The Kremlin and Dodon talk differently about the meeting with Putin
President of Moldova Igor Dodon visited Moscow for the second time in a week. For the first time, he met with the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, and for the second, with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Kremlin press service, reporting on the meeting, focuses on stabilizing the situation in Moldova, which will allow the development of bilateral relations, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Dodon announces his intention to hold an intergovernmental commission - the first in the last three years - and an investment forum.
However, the Moldovan president himself remembered something completely different from the conversation.
“We paid special attention to solving the problem of natural gas supplies to the Republic of Moldova. We have agreed in principle and agreed on further steps for cooperation in the gas industry, which allows us to announce at this stage that tariffs for end consumers will not increase. Already from October 1, the price of Russian gas supplied to Moldova will decrease,” Dodon wrote in his telegram channel.
In addition, he expressed gratitude to the Russian leadership for extending the regime of duty-free import of five categories of Moldovan agricultural goods to the Russian market.
Moldovan observers believe that Dodon will actively demonstrate his ability to resolve practical issues with one of the most influential politicians on the planet in order to promote his Socialist Party in the local elections that have started in Moldova.
