The Kremlin responded to Psaki and confirmed Putin’s words about Ukraine
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov explained Vladimir Putin’s words about the “Ukraine” project.
“Russia recognizes the Ukrainian state. At the same time, the state really, from the moment a military coup took place in Ukraine with the connivance of a number of Western countries, Ukraine turned into a project of these Western countries. We see such elements,” Peskov said today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At a meeting with leaders of Duma factions, Putin stated that Ukraine is geopolitical project of the West, therefore double standards are applied in relation to it, in particular with regard to freedom of speech. The president believes that attempts to stop the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline are connected with the West’s desire to force Russia to pay for the geopolitical project “Ukraine”.
Today, White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced sanctions against Nord Stream 2.
Dmitry Peskov advised the United States to focus on its own gas supply.
“This project is good, it has absolutely nothing to do with the energy supply of the United States, it concerns the energy security of Europe. Especially in conditions of such turbulence with climate change. In general, it makes sense for our American partners to be less interested in Nord Stream 2, and more interested in events in Houston and Texas. Of course, gas wouldn’t hurt here,” Peskov said.
