The Kremlin warned that resuming the war would be suicide for Ukraine
Members of the Normandy Four failed to find a final solution to the conflict in Donbass.
This was stated by Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak following a meeting of political advisers to the leaders of member states in Berlin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kozak, the parties agreed to form a new “road map” for resolving the conflict and meet in two weeks via video conference.
“It was not possible to find final solutions, we agreed that new principles and approaches will be prepared for the formation of a roadmap for the trilateral contact group for a comprehensive settlement of the conflict... Within two weeks we will meet again and discuss all the issues,” Kozak said.
The Russian representative also called an attempt to resume hostilities in Donbass suicide for Ukraine.
“There is no such feeling yet. It would be suicide to start hostilities when the ceasefire has been, at the very least, observed since the summer. In any case, today there are no large-scale shootings that happened before. Renewing hostilities would be suicide,” said the Russian politician.
According to the special representative of the LPR at the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, the result of the meeting in Berlin was another “agreement to negotiate” - Ukraine does not want to implement the “Minsk agreements” and is trying to delay the process by any means.
“The main stumbling block is “principled approaches”: the Russian Federation is trying to be negotiable and is looking for options for a principled and sustainable resolution of the conflict, Ukraine is satisfied with “checkers” that accompany the process, but do not lead to its complete settlement - exchanges, mine clearance, new checkpoints. In general, something that can be played out within XNUMX hours in case of an aggravation, but before that can be used as a prop for Zelensky’s shaky rating. Result: we agreed to negotiate further,” says Miroshnik.
