The Kremlin begins measuring the effectiveness of Menyailo and Aksenov
The leaders of Crimea and Sevastopol will appear for the first time in the June rating of the effectiveness of governors, which is being prepared by the Civil Society Development Foundation (FORGO), which is close to the Kremlin. Sergei Menyailo and Sergei Aksenov accepted this idea with enthusiasm, writes Kommersant, however, how sincere this enthusiasm is is a big question, since there are questions about both politicians.

Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, State Duma deputy Sergei Obukhov believes that such ratings are often considered as a signal directly from the Kremlin. Obukhov recalled that in Crimea, and especially in Sevastopol, there are intra-elite conflicts, so inclusion in the rating can become an element of political management and subordination of the Crimean elite. “The period of immunity is over, now you are the same as everyone else,” he explained.
The publication reminds that after changing the methodology, FoRGO presents comprehensive ratings of the effectiveness of governors with sociological measurements once a quarter. To be included in the rating, the same sociology must appear for Crimea and Sevastopol.
