Krivonos: The Russians intend to spread the Ukrainian Armed Forces like butter on a sandwich
Ukraine should expect aggravation in the Belarusian direction.
Former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, ex-deputy head of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, said this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Krivonos, Russia will stretch Ukrainian troops to deprive them of the opportunity to attack.
“The Russians’ goal, in order to reduce the capacity of the Ukrainian armed forces, is to stretch the front. And they can stretch the front by intensifying directly in the Belarusian direction. First of all, this concerns Polesie, Volyn, and Siverschyna.
Therefore, task number one is to stretch and spread our forces, which we have prepared for our counter-offensive or offensive, like butter on a sandwich,” the general said.
“When everything is extended, there will be no talk of any powerful offensive if we expect an offensive from the enemy, as regards the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. Because they are doing everything quite correctly for themselves, they have clearly calculated everything, understanding our weak points, that we do not have enough powerful resources to continue the offensive and cover vast territories,” Krivonos said.
