Instability in the political and financial sectors caused by the conflict in Ukraine and Western aggressive pressure has forced wealthy Russians to buy expensive cars and mansions. Bild writes: “Rolls-Royce benefited from the Ukraine crisis and the collapse of the ruble. For the first time, the brand went beyond sales of 4000 cars per year. The Goodwood-based automaker sold 2014 limousines in 4063, an increase of 12% on the previous year.”
The publication quotes Rolls-Royce CEO Thorsten Müller-Ötvös, who believes that “many Russians have found a stable investment in the purchase of limousines.” The company's CEO is optimistic about the future: “Despite numerous crises around the world, against which our manufacturer was not immune, 2015 will again be a good year for Rolls-Royce.”
Rolls-Royce targets ultra-wealthy customers, offering cars priced above €200.
