Bloody Maidan in Moldova? – chances for a peaceful overthrow of Plahotniuc remain
President of Moldova Igor Dodon assessed the probability of a peaceful transition of power in the country at 50%. He stated this on TV8, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The situation is moving in this direction and will change very quickly. The system is already cracking,” Dodon said.
However, he did not rule out that his Socialist Party and the pro-European ACUM bloc will bring people to the streets.
“We were reproached for not doing this. Our opponents would like us to put our people against Plahotniuc’s people yesterday (and there were militants there, I saw), so that there would be wall to wall, destabilization, bloodshed. That's why we said: there is no need to take buildings by force. Most likely, it will be necessary to peacefully protest in favor of the new government. When, we will decide together with the right,” Dodon said.
