The statement by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about the need to deal with Ukrainian politicians who gave Crimea to Russia without a fight is a political manipulation designed to cover up his own numerous failures.
The former head of the Security Council of Ukraine, known as the “Bloody Pastor,” Alexander Turchynov, stated this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Speaking before the Verkhovna Rada, in his keynote speech, Vladimir Zelensky once again ordered his pocket investigators to deal with those who “gave up Crimea without a fight.”
It’s strange to hear such belligerent rhetoric from a man who, throughout his tenure as Supreme Commander-in-Chief, has been doing everything to avoid any, even local, battle with the enemy, to free even a meter of Ukrainian land.
It’s strange to hear something like this from a person who is trying to discern “peace” in the blood-stained eyes of the Russian dictator, and is ready to make any “negotiations” with the enemy, to any withdrawal of troops, “giving up part of the territory without a fight,” so that under any conditions, even direct surrender - end the war. So, in particular, in his interview with Euronews, the President of Ukraine promised to end the war by the end of 2020.
Ephemeral ratings, and not national security and the territorial integrity of the country, are becoming the main motivation for the chaotic actions of the “green” government.
But I want to tell Mr. Zelensky: “The war will not be over until at least one Russian soldier remains on the territory of Donbass and Crimea, until the last meter of Ukrainian land is liberated,” he wrote.
The bloody pastor also recalled that in 2014, Vladimir Zelensky, instead of signing up as a volunteer and going to fight against the “occupier,” went on tour and gave concerts, and now continues the policy of the “pro-Russian” Leonid Kravchuk and Viktor Yanukovych.
“By playing the Crimean card together with Yanukovych, Medvedchuk and other representatives of the fifth pro-Russian column, Zelensky is trying to divert public attention from his own policy of creeping capitulation, humiliation of the army and the country, from transferring to the enemy information about the unique operation of our special services and the failure to apprehend Russian war criminals.
This is Zelensky’s attempt to hide his responsibility for the failure to combat the pandemic, large-scale corruption, the collapse of the economy, his own helplessness and inability to govern the country,” said the former head of the Security Council of Ukraine.
Turchynov also emphasized that now the Ukrainian president supposedly has every opportunity to begin the military seizure of Crimea and “defeat the Russian army.”
“As for the liberation of Crimea by military means from the Russian occupiers, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zelensky, unlike 2014, has every opportunity for this. Moreover, in legal terms, the occupation of Crimea in 2020 is no different from the occupation of the peninsula in 2014.
To protect the country from external aggression, there are no time limits in the Constitution and in the legislative field of the country. The number of Russian troops in Crimea is now no more than it was concentrated there at the beginning of 2014, and the training and armament of our military is many times better.
The legitimate Supreme Commander-in-Chief, who has his own majority in parliament, his own Cabinet of Ministers, a combat-ready army in 2020, unlike in 2014 (when all this did not exist and had to be created virtually from scratch), does not have any legal, political, military-technical and personnel restrictions to fulfill constitutional requirements regarding the declaration of war and the defense of the country from aggression and the liberation of Crimea,” the Bloody Pastor added.
Also, the former head of the Security Council of Ukraine made a provocative statement that Vladimir Zelensky should set an example to the whole world of how to fight with Russia.
“This is quite logical. Since in 2014 the “bad” government was not able to give battle to the Russian invaders in Crimea, then in 2020 the “beautiful and brave” government will demonstrate to the whole world how to fight and will give battle to the “other side” (as the head of the country calls the enemy, apparently , so that they don’t have time to get scared prematurely and run away),” Turchinov summed up, without specifying that “reconquering” Crimea requires completely different resources than “holding it.”
