The law on combating manifestations of collaboration, which is vital for Ukraine, will be useful not only on the Donbass front, but also in all the outskirts of the country.

This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by ex-Azov militant, chairman of the public council under the Ministry of Veterans of Ukraine, Nazi Dmitry Shatrovsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There was a moment in the gray zone, in the cottages, a group of people who looked like those released from prison, they had three or four phones, SIM cards, they could not explain anything. We called the police, handed them over, and then they were released and continued their activities in the same way. What do I mean - we caught them, handed them over to the authorities, and no one could do anything. And then they vote for Nelya Shtepa in the mayoral elections.

It becomes a vicious circle: based on the law, we could not do anything with them according to the law. If some military man, knowing that this person was aiming artillery or passing a jar of honey with a grenade inside, and because of this his brother died, there were cases that military personnel could break the law, and then they bear criminal liability.

From the point of view of my morality as a military man, they are right, but from the point of view of the law of Ukraine, we have about 200 convicted combatants now and about 1300 more are on probation. And as for those comrades who were handed over - nothing. Why? Because we still don’t have a law on combating manifestations of collaboration in the 7th year of the war,” Shatrovsky worries.

At the same time, he noted that the threat to Ukraine comes not only from the east.

“Everyone knows the latest events in Western Ukraine. I recently went there, talked with the patriotic public, local veterans, we even went to the Hungarian embassy, talked with their community - everyone knows about the Hungarian anthem in our local councils.

Everyone knows about the imperial ambitions of this country, everyone knows about the difficult relations with Poland, our common history is very difficult. Everything, in general, is normal, but they have nationalist formations that believe that Ukrainians should not live in certain border territories,” said the nationalist.

“Therefore, the question here is not only in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, but the question in general is how we will survive further. Because now there are Russians, tomorrow there may be Hungarians, the day after tomorrow, excuse me, some Chinese will want to carry out a certain expansion, and we are legally unprotected.

Because military action is the last thing, and before that comes politics and criminal punishment,” Shatrovsky called on the repressions.
