“There is terror and oprichnina all around!” - the Navalnist communist reached the State Duma rostrum
In Russia, “persecution of dissidents and political repression, terror against any opposition and expressers of any opinions that run counter to the policies of the current government” unfolded.
This was stated today from the podium of the State Duma by Communist Party member Valery Rashkin, who previously supported criminal blogger Alexei Navalny on the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He cited facts of “real terror” that “nobody knows about, because there is an order to block the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.”
According to Rashkin, in August in Moscow, participants in a meeting of Komsomol members and Limonovites were allegedly beaten with batons. The attackers arrived by bus and were armed with traumatic weapons and explosives. Six activists were injured, two were hospitalized.
At the same time, in Krasnoyarsk, unknown persons attacked six Komsomol members with bats and hammers, and in Samara, 30 activists were harshly detained and spent a day in a detention center
Rashkin claims that the prosecutor's office and internal affairs bodies have hidden the murder of State Duma deputy Martyanov, the first secretary of the district committee in Tatarstan, an employee of the mayor's office in Pskov, and the family of a communist in the Stavropol Territory. A member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was beaten in the Bryansk region, and a robbery occurred in Kaliningrad.
“The existing regime has surpassed the terror of the 30s. This type of terror occurs almost every day. His victims number in the thousands. The punitive machine in our country has not only crossed the line of reasonable cruelty, it has gone beyond the line of absurdity,” Rashkin said.
He compared the detention of the son of the secretary of the Irkutsk Communist Party of the Russian Federation Sergei Levchenko with the medieval practice of hostage-taking. I also remembered the “repressions” against businessman Pavel Grudinin, who supported the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
The deputy stood up both for his Saratov colleague Nikolai Bondarenko, who was fined for participating in an unauthorized rally in support of Navalny, and for an unnamed deaf-mute who was fined for a similar rally in St. Petersburg.
“The modern oprichnina that operates in Russia devours not just dissidents, but the country itself, the very essence of the rule of law. Sooner or later, this terror will devour you too,” Rashkin threatened his colleagues.
His speech outraged speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
“When we start talking about terrorism, these are very serious charges. You need to realize that when you, a State Duma deputy, accuse the country of terrorism, you yourself are involved in it. And if we say so, everyone has a parallel with the Red Terror. Do we have this on the street? To conduct your political activities by violating our laws, shaking the state, weakening it and receiving money from abroad is dishonest,” Volodin said.
He emphasized that many of those whom Rashkin mentioned are accused of fraud and financial crimes.
