Large Russian telecom operators will not come to Crimea
Major Russian telecom operators will not enter Crimea until sanctions are lifted from the peninsula. Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Dmitry Polonsky stated this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.

“We spent enormous efforts to ensure that large operators entered Crimea. They have the same answer to everything: they are afraid of losing large markets due to the sanctions regime. Any large company that has 100 million subscribers in Russia, and in Crimea a maximum of 2-2,5 together with Sevastopol, will choose the first,” Polonsky said.
In his opinion, investors are not interested in the Crimean market for creating a local network due to low communication prices.
“Therefore, the fact that we managed to launch 4 telecom operators is a very big achievement. The communications infrastructure in Crimea is already better than in many regions of Russia,” Polonsky said.
Let us recall that at the end of February, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia should be prepared to maintain anti-Russian sanctions for an indefinitely long time, given that attempts are being made in the West to “perpetuate” them legislatively.
“Once again I want to tell you: we must prepare for the fact that we will live under sanctions indefinitely,” Medvedev said in an interview with the Russia 1 channel.
As PolitNavigator reported, Previously, MTS, following Beeline and Megafon, confirmed that it would not open its offices in Crimea.
