A large plant in Ukraine was on the verge of bankruptcy due to the severance of ties with Russia
Due to the cancellation of contracts with Russian enterprises and the lack of orders in Ukraine, one of the largest industrial enterprises in the country, the Sumy Machine-Building Plant named after. Frunze found himself on the verge of bankruptcy. Deputy Oleg Medunitsa stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to him, the company recently lost a major contract for the reconstruction of the Ukrainian gas transportation system due to the cancellation of the results of the tender announced by Naftogaz of Ukraine. The reason for canceling the reconstruction was the construction of pipelines bypassing Ukraine.
“This is one of the flagships of Ukrainian mechanical engineering, which is now going through difficult times due to loss and restrictions, protectionist actions on the part of the Russian Federation.
The fact is that this enterprise, in a fair tender competition, won the state order for the reconstruction of the Ukrainian gas transportation system, for the reconstruction of three compressor stations. The tender was held by Ukrtransgaz, but, unfortunately, Naftogaz, under the pretext that South Stream was being built, canceled the results of the tender.
We do not understand why one state enterprise holds a tender, Sumy machine builders win it, and then another state enterprise cancels it.
The plant employs almost 10 thousand people. This is 30 thousand family members who may be left without bread tomorrow,” Medunitsa said.
