MH17 crash: Bad news for Ukraine from Japan
Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad announced the politicization of the investigation into the crash of a Malaysian Boeing 2014 that crashed in the skies of Donbass in 777 and the possible involvement of Ukrainian military personnel in its destruction.
He stated this at a press conference in Tokyo, TASS reports, citing The Star newspaper.
“They blame Russia, but where is the evidence? We know that the missile that shot down the plane was of the type [missiles produced] in Russia, but it could also have been made in Ukraine. We need strong evidence to reveal that it was launched by the Russians,” Mahathir said.
"It could have been done by the militias in Ukraine, it could have been [done] by the Ukrainian government because they also have the same missiles... We don't know why we were excluded from the study, but from the very beginning we see too much politics in this, and the idea was not to find out how it happened, but seemed to be focused on trying to put [the blame] on the Russians,” the Malaysian prime minister added.
Let us recall that the Boeing 777 passenger airliner, owned by Malaysia Airlines and operating flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on July 17, 2014. Citizens of 10 states died - 298 people. At the same time, Ukrainian propaganda immediately blamed Russia for the incident.
As PolitNavigator reported, an analysis of the remains of the Buk missile that shot down a Malaysian Boeing in the skies over Donbass in 2014 indicates that the ammunition dates back to Soviet times was assigned to a military unit, stationed in the Lviv region.
