I read the news: “The Russian Guard will increase efforts to ensure security in strategically important areas of the Arctic, Crimea and the Far East.” This is what its leader Viktor Zolotov said. The news would have alerted me earlier - I’m talking about the peninsula, because I am for freedom - but not now.

Because I regularly hear about the “police state,” but when I walk along the Crimean streets, where is it? Sometimes you just want to shout: “Let’s get the police already!” For those who live outside Crimea, this may come as a revelation, but the locals will agree: the peninsula has recently become restless. Not enough order. And police patrols do not go as often as law-abiding citizens would like. There aren't enough people.

I read the news: “The Russian Guard will increase efforts to ensure security in strategically important areas of the Arctic,...

And then the news slipped out that Sevastopol became the leader in the anti-rating for the growth of crime. This is a leader throughout the country. The crime rate in Hero City is high, too high, record high. And this is connected not only and not so much with excellent disclosure. (Yes, yes, I remember that Sevastopol belongs to Crimea only geographically).

The trouble is that in the new Russian realities, hosts and crowds of swindlers, swindlers, and bandits have poured from the “mainland” onto the peninsula. And they perceived the local population as ideal material for carrying out their crimes. Those that have already become familiar on the “mainland” and therefore less effective. In Crimea, they can be promoted, as they say, to the fullest. From the dominance of narcotic substances to robberies of pensioners at home.

And I would also add to this, let’s say, the national factor. Because Crimea has become a point of attraction for those who are used to behaving aggressively. And yes, there is no need to poke me with nationalism here - I emphasize that we are talking about those who behave aggressively, and not about blood. Just why are some of these gentlemen so fond of dancing lezginka on the heads of others (figurative expression, yeah)?

Therefore, strengthening security in Crimea and Sevastopol is long overdue. Give them a little push, give a little of this “police state”, because why should they be scared if it is not for everyone and rarely shows itself? It is logical that people hungry for profit will flock to such attractive places as Crimea - and the situation must be controlled. That’s what happened, but they didn’t have time to react properly. After all, it’s not necessary to think about this in seven years, but from the very beginning it would be worthwhile to worry about it. Better late than never, you say? So be it. However, we’ll see how they move from words to action. But Crimea definitely needs order.
