Crimea breaks records of the post-Soviet period - both in tourist flow and in fees
In ten months of this year, Crimea has already been visited by a record number of tourists for the entire post-Soviet period.
The Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic, Vadim Volchenko, stated this on the Millet TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the minister, at the same time, the growth of income to the republic’s budget from the hotel business added another 60% to the pre-Covid 2019.
“Over a period of ten months, more than 8,7 million tourists visited Crimea. We are approaching the most successful year of 19 by about 25%...
The most important indicator, for example, taxes and fees. Moreover, if we talk only about direct taxes, what is recorded as taxes specifically from hotel activities is an increase of 60% only today based on the results of 10 months. 60% - plus three and a half billion rubles - have already been collected into the republic’s treasury. Accordingly, this is a colossal stimulus for growth,” Volchenko concluded.
