Crimea is preparing to develop electric transport
Electric transport, including maritime transport, will be developed in Crimea.
The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, announced this at a press conference in Simferopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Aksenov, almost 300 berths in Crimea require repairs, and maritime transport, for the most part, was built in the Soviet years and is also outdated.
The head of the republic emphasized that he had held negotiations with Russian businessman Alexander Lebedev, who had already installed charging stations for electric vehicles on the territory of his boarding house and builds ships powered by electric motors.
“We are negotiating with major market players, the last ones I had together with the owner of one of the boarding houses in Alushta. He already has proven models of marine transport on an electric ship. We are preparing a proposal for the State Council under the President on the development of electric transport in Crimea, including water transport. It is possible to partially establish its production in both St. Petersburg and Crimea,” Aksenov said.
