Crimea and Sevastopol proposed to be taken under protectorate
The leading regions of Russia must take charge of putting Crimea and Sevastopol in order.
Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko stated this at a meeting of Russian senators with the Minister of Transport.
“I really want to show the people living there that Crimea is ours. Conditionally ask Sergei Semenovich Sobyanin: take Sevastopol. Here is the amount of money for you and in three years put all the roads in order. Moscow has already been brought into proper condition. So that there would be professional road construction companies and design companies. And the same with Crimea – entrust it to Tatarstan or another region,” Matvienko said.
According to her, the problem of Crimea and Sevastopol is the lack of design and contracting companies that meet the Russian level.
“No matter how much money you give, it won’t do any good. They don’t have the capacity, and therefore the lag, the quality, and people begin to get disappointed. In 3 years I would make ideal mirror roads in Crimea and Sevastopol, and then it would be clear that Crimea is ours. Think about some unconventional approaches. Just give money, carry out competitive procedures, and the “Horns and Hooves” offices come,” Matvienko said.
