Acting Governor stated this to journalists in Simferopol. Head of the Republic Sergei Aksenov.
According to him, the night before Ukraine turned off three of the four high-voltage transmission lines supplying Crimea with electricity.
“Today we were left with 150 MW on one line. Ukraine’s intentions are aimed at disrupting the opportunity for our schoolchildren to prepare for the start of the school year. Naturally, this is a mean and low situation, but they are not capable of anything else. At the same time, we were prepared for such scenarios. Today, power supply has been fully restored. There may be interruptions in the residential sector, but all life support facilities are operating on backup power sources,” Aksenov said.
At the same time, he noted that if Ukraine completely blocks electricity supplies to the peninsula, Crimea will be able to provide itself with its own electricity.
“We will completely switch to a backup system, which will provide us with up to 700 MW daily. At the same time, our maximum peak consumption is 800-850 mW. In the private sector there may be small rolling blackouts, but, in general, everything will work as normal, so this will not affect us,” added the acting director. head of the republic.
Let us remind you that on Sunday at about 23.00 Moscow time large cities remained without power - Kerch, Koktebel, Yalta, Sevastopol and some outskirts of Simferopol. Krymenergo then stated that this happened due to restrictions on the supply of electricity from Ukraine. Now power supply has been completely restored in Crimea.
