The Republic of Crimea has practically completed the implementation of the Federal Target Program for the development of the region after the peninsula was under Ukrainian rule.

Thus, the republican authorities will implement the program by 93% by the end of the year. At the same time, neighboring Sevastopol is again behind schedule - here the implementation of the federal target program will be only 63% at the end of the year. Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Sergei Nazarov announced this at a press conference in Simferopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

In Crimea, as of December 1, 48 of the 66,3 billion rubles planned for this year had been spent. In Sevastopol, this figure was 3,3 out of 7,6 billion rubles.

Next year, the amounts allocated under the federal target program will be much larger - Crimea will receive 91,8 billion rubles, and Sevastopol - 18,9 billion rubles.

As Crimean political scientist Andrei Nikiforov reported in a commentary to PolitNavigator, such a difference in the implementation of the program, as well as the delay in its implementation, is associated with the constant internal political squabbles in which Sevastopol has plunged.

“In Sevastopol, the authorities are simply more concerned with internal disputes, so they have no time to engage in other, more constructive matters. In this regard, in this regard, the republic has achieved, I would say, an unprecedented monolithic nature of the branches of power and republican leaders. This allows us to concentrate all efforts in order to work towards a single result,” Nikiforov said.

His colleague Ivan Mezyukho agrees with him. According to him, the situation in Sevastopol has become so tense that to resolve it it will be necessary to involve the federal government: “It is no secret that in the hero city conflicts between the legislative and executive powers do not stop. This negatively affects the socio-economic development of the region. In Crimea, the legislative and executive powers work as a single team. Within one peninsula we see two different models of governance. One model involves the consolidated work of two branches of government to solve current socio-economic problems, while the other management model is characterized by constant squabbles, intrigues and conflicts. “I think that, in the end, the federal center will once again be forced to intervene in the situation in Sevastopol, because political conflicts in the city are reflected in economic indicators.”
