Crimea intends to receive coal from Donbass
Crimea expects to receive Donbass coal via land railways by this heating season. Gas injection into storage facilities is proceeding according to plan.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced this on the Millet TV channel.
“We definitely won’t have to freeze because of a gas shortage, we don’t have any problems,” he assured. – Preparations for the heating season are going according to plan, we have determined the maximum cost of firewood in the warehouse – it will be 3200 rubles per cubic meter. This is throughout the entire territory of the Republic of Crimea. Coal at 16 - 16,5 thousand per ton. We are working with the federal center.
I think there will be another working meeting on Monday. If we open a railway connection with Donetsk, we will buy coal at a cheaper price. Next week we will inform the Crimeans what steps we are taking. But I am sure that the cost of coal should not exceed 17 thousand. Let’s try to import higher quality coal, cheaper from the Donetsk People’s Republic.”
Let us recall that at the time of Crimea’s entry into the Russian Federation, the gasification level of Crimea was 67%. Over the past 8 years, gas pipelines have been built in 78 settlements in the republic; the level of gasification by the end of this year will reach 80%. For laying networks to residential buildings in the republic, preferential loans are provided at 3% per annum.
