Crimea will remain without water - Zelensky's deputy
Ukraine cannot allow drinking water from the mainland to end up in Crimea at the disposal of the Russian military
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this in an interview with Radio NV, answering a question about the possibility of supplying water to Crimea.
“I think this is an impossible thing. We understand that the issue is extremely complex - on the one hand, as you say, there are citizens there, but on the other hand, there is a very militarized zone, and then we will provide the Russian troops with drinking water. My personal opinion as a citizen is that we do not have the right to do this...
We can do what we can do. If we had the opportunity today to take this territory by military means, we would probably do it. But we understand that there may be huge casualties, primarily among the civilian population. We cannot agree to this; the only option left is the diplomatic path, which we are currently working on,” Danilov said.
Let us remind you that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine is headed by President Vladimir Zelensky.
