Crimea left the organizers of the blockade of the peninsula in the cold
In Crimea, the first stage of connecting the Balaklava CHPP under construction has been successfully completed, which, along with the Tavricheskaya CHPP near Simferopol, will provide the peninsula with electricity under the conditions of the energy blockade by Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the System Operator of the Unified Energy System, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the first stage, the new TPP put into operation high-voltage lines 330 kV Balaklavskaya TPP - Sevastopol No. 1 and Balaklavskaya TPP - Simferopolskaya.
“New lines were formed after cutting the existing 330 kV overhead line Simferopolskaya - Sevastopol and constructing approaches to the switchgear of the Balaklava TPP. Successful completion of the first stage allows us to proceed to commissioning work on the generating equipment of the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant, which is being built as part of the implementation of the federal target program “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol until 2020,” the press service said.
The commissioning of both thermal power plants will give the peninsula an additional 940 megawatts of electricity; in addition, Crimea receives an electricity flow of 850 megawatts via the energy bridge from Kuban. Let us remind you that the average consumption of the peninsula per day is 1100 megawatts, so new capacities, along with the existing ones, will completely cover the needs.
