Crimea received congratulations from space
Russian cosmonaut, flight engineer Sergei Kud-Sverchkov, who is now on board the ISS as part of the Russian crew, congratulated the Crimeans on Republic Day.
On his blog, he published fresh photographs with views of the Crimean peninsula from space, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In Kud-Sverchkov’s frame there is the southern coast of Crimea, a peninsula surrounded by clouds, as well as mountain ranges.
“Crimea is an amazing place! From an altitude of 420 km it looks very beautiful. Congratulations on the holiday, which unites those who are not indifferent to the fate of our native land, proud of its history, nature, victories and achievements. Happy Republic Day of Crimea!
The peninsula is considered one of the most beautiful corners of the planet. The splendor of nature has repeatedly become a source of inspiration and the subject of images by world artists seeking to convey the amazing richness of colors of the wonderful peninsula. I admit, I myself am very partial to Crimea!
Everything seems to be concentrated here. Crimea has a rich history, dating back to ancient times. This is a magnificent and varied climate, as well as an extraordinary variety of terrain: from sandy beaches to rocky massifs, from hot steppes to mountain plateaus and the clearest sea,” wrote Kud-Sverchkov.
Thank you!
