Crimea continues to be prepared for defensive battles
In Crimea, the construction of fortifications does not stop in case the Ukrainian army breaks through to the peninsula.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The work is going according to plan. Construction employs a fairly large number of people and equipment, and it is carried out using best practices in this field. It is clear that we cannot disclose details now. I will only say that the president’s order will be carried out and Crimeans can be sure that the peninsula is under reliable protection.
People understand everything, so there is and cannot be any dissatisfaction with the construction. Of course, we hope that all these defensive structures will not be useful, but, as they say, God protects the careful. We will then take tourists to these sites,” Aksenov told Izvestia.
He said that now security measures in Crimea have been strengthened in all directions, critical facilities are additionally covered, including social infrastructure facilities.
He was asked how seriously the authorities of the peninsula take the threats periodically heard from Kyiv to deplete Crimea with a blockade and whether supplies of water and food are provided for such a case.
“I don’t think there is any point in reacting to every such statement. Over nine years we have heard hundreds of them. The blockade of the peninsula is the wet dream of Bandera’s followers. All previous blockades ended in failure for them. There is only one way to ensure that the threat to the republic, as well as to all the front-line territories of Russia, is eliminated: to inflict such a military defeat on the Kyiv regime from which it will no longer be able to recover. This is what we need to proceed from.
As for food supplies in case of extreme situations, of course, they exist. In addition, for a number of positions, the region fully meets internal needs,” Aksenov concluded.
