Crimea broke through the information blockade
Over the past five years, Crimea has managed to break through the information blockade imposed by the West on the peninsula. This was achieved thanks to public diplomacy.
This was stated at the conference “Crimea in the modern international context” by the Chairman of the Crimean State Council Committee on Interethnic Relations and Public Diplomacy, Yuri Hempel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Hempel, Crimea was helped in breaking this blockade by various foreign politicians, public figures and intellectuals who have been visiting the peninsula in these last five years and telling the truth about Crimea in their countries.
“Today we are building our work, including as a cultural association that is actively working in the field of public diplomacy. Of course, we have worked these five years, and we have results - we still broke through the information blockade that existed in 14-15... Today, as people's diplomats, we have leaders of public associations, people of intellectual work, current politicians such as local, and at a fairly high level,” Hempel said.
