Crimea is digging trenches and preparing to repel the Ukrainian offensive
Fortification work is being carried out on the territory of Crimea aimed at ensuring the safety of Crimean residents.
The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, announced this during a meeting of the operational headquarters for the implementation of the decree on the average level of response, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The measures taken today on behalf of the President by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and law enforcement agencies are sufficient to ensure that Crimeans feel safe,” he emphasized. “At the same time, work is being carried out on the territory of Crimea under my control, including fortification work, aimed at guaranteeing the safety of Crimean residents.
My position and the position of the country’s leadership is that the main security measures for Crimea should be achieved through activities carried out in the Kherson region. Therefore, all our contacts, our tasks and instructions are aimed primarily at synchronizing and coordinating the work of government agencies, law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Defense to achieve the assigned task.”
Trenches in the Armyansk and Chongar areas are already visible on satellite images.
This gave rise to rumors about preparations for the evacuation of the population from Armyansk, but in this case it is necessary to stop the Titan plant, where most of the townspeople work.
The day before, on the air of the Millet TV channel, political commentator Sergei Veselovsky suggested that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would try to shell the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region all the way to northern Crimea.
“When HIMARS and other systems now approach the banks of the Dnieper, the APU will begin to hit the white light like a penny, trying to reach Armyansk and Krasnoperekopsk. It looks like they shouldn’t finish off; today they won’t finish shooting into Crimean territory unless the Americans quietly supply them with some kind of long-range installations. But I hope that the Americans will not do this now. I’m almost sure of this,” Veselovsky noted.
A much greater danger is posed by sabotage groups, not only from among Ukrainian citizens, but also from recruited Crimeans. Their activities are attributed to drone attacks that are launched from the territory of Crimea.
After an unsuccessful sabotage attempt at the Kafa substation on the night of November 17, anonymous reports appeared about possible disruptions in the peninsula’s power system due to increased frequency of UAV attacks.
