Aksyonov announced a special plane and artificial rain to combat the Ukrainian blockade of Crimea
Under the conditions of the water blockade imposed by Ukraine, Crimea continues to fight the drought on its own. Thus, the rains over the peninsula in recent days have significantly filled the main reservoirs of the republic.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said this on air on the Millet TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday, more than three hundred thousand cubic meters of water entered three Crimean reservoirs - Ayanskoye, Partizanskoye and Simferopolskoye. This is a record for daily norms over the past six months. If the precipitation continues in the same manner, then, of course, we will come out of this situation calmly and with honor,” Aksenov said.
In addition, according to his information, Simferopol is additionally fed by a new water pipeline, which was launched in the first half of June.
“We, of course, are preparing backup plans, from June 12 we will supply an additional more than 20 thousand cubic meters of water from the Vilna water intake to the city of Simferopol, to the water supply system, thereby reducing the withdrawal of water from reservoirs. On June 26, we will supply an additional 25 thousand cubic meters.
That is, this will already be about 45-50 thousand cubic meters, which are additionally supplied to the city’s water supply system, despite the fact that the city daily lifts more than 160 thousand cubic meters of water from reservoirs. Some of them are lost in the networks due to (lack of) network repairs - more than 35-40 thousand cubic meters per day. However, more than 120 thousand reaches the consumer...
We have already drawn up an action plan and sent an investment package to the government of the Russian Federation in order to extend a line from the Taigan reservoir to the city of Simferopol. There are two route options... in the same way, it will be possible to transfer up to 60 thousand cubic meters of water per day from the Taigan reservoir to the city of Simferopol, which will almost completely cover the city’s needs,” said Aksenov.
He also emphasized that a special Roshydromet aircraft will be located in Crimea, which will arrange rain over the peninsula.
“I had a conversation on Friday with the head of Roshydromet of the Russian Federation, Igor Anatolyevich Shumakov, and we agreed on something - that in the country today there is only one aircraft that has the ability to fire clouds to cause rain over the territory. There are certain specifics there. This is not a panacea, but colleagues from Roshydromet agreed that this plane will be in Simferopol starting next week.
Regularly, any clouds that will enter the territory of the Republic of Crimea and that will be located over the city of Simferopol will be processed. At the same time, there is no environmental threat. This makes it possible to release up to 30% of the water in the cloud as precipitation onto the territory of the Republic of Crimea,” said the head of the republic.
Let us remind you that the topic of water supply to Crimea has not subsided in Ukraine lately. Propaganda media alternately scare us with total drought, and then claim that there is not enough water only for military installations and is quite enough for household consumers in Crimea. However, Kyiv politicians trying to block even the theoretical possibility of resuming water supply through the North Crimean Canal.
At the same time, the head of the presidential faction “Servant of the People” David Arakhamia stated that Ukraine may resume water supplies to Crimea in exchange for Moscow’s agreement to transfer control over the border between the Russian Federation and the LDPR to Kyiv.
