Crimea for the first time ceased to be energy deficient
For the first time, Crimea sent “extra” megawatts of energy via an energy bridge to Kuban.
Thus, the region ceased to be energy deficient and generated 28 MW of surplus electricity. This is stated in a message from the Russian Ministry of Energy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Deputy Energy Minister Andrei Tcherezov, the surplus became possible thanks to the commissioning of new power plants “Tavricheskaya” and “Balaklavskaya” in Crimea and Sevastopol.
“In the morning hours, with a total output of the Crimean Peninsula’s own generation of 542 MW, taking into account the first units of the Tavricheskaya, Balaklava Thermal Power Plants and the first stage of the Saki Thermal Power Plant launched in test mode, excess power in the amount of 28 MW was transmitted towards the Kuban energy system via the Kuban - Crimea energy bridge.” , noted the Deputy Minister.
Earlier, Federation Council Senator from Crimea Sergei Tsekov commented to PolitNavigator reported that the launch in Crimea and Sevastopol new thermal power plants “Tavricheskaya” and “Balaklavskaya” make the peninsula completely energy independent, including from mainland Russia.
