Crimeans will be crushed by tanks - Dzhemilev
There was no expression of the will of the Crimeans, the referendum in Crimea was held under Russian bayonets, and those who advocate the return of the peninsula to Ukraine will be thrown under tanks by Moscow.
The ex-leader of the Mejlis banned in the Russian Federation, Verkhovna Rada deputy Mustafa Dzhemilev, stated this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It’s not about the mood of the residents of Crimea; the Russians could just as easily have occupied the Lvov region, held their referendum at bayonets and said that the residents greeted them joyfully,” Dzhemilev said.
“Well, I don’t know, I’m not sure here,” the presenter doubted.
“Do you seriously think that this is the result of a referendum, an outpouring of will?” he was surprised.
“No, but also Ukraine’s insufficient policy towards Crimea,” the journalist did not argue with the studio guest.
“Ukraine’s insufficient policy lay elsewhere. I remember that immediately after the Georgian-Russian war in 2008 and the occupation of part of Georgia, we clearly said that Crimea could be next in line. And they said that it was necessary to break the agreement on the presence of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, because it was a support. In 2014, all the “little green men”, all the agents, the GRU - everything was formed there.
We talked about the need to cleanse the power structure of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea from Russian agents, and almost half there were Russian agents. This was not done either. We said to check the activities of the Russian consulate in issuing Russian passports to citizens. That is, they did the same thing as they did in Abkhazia and Ossetia. After Russian passports, as a rule, there are Russian tanks,” said the Mejlis member.
“There is a theory that has been expressed even in high-ranking circles that if Ukraine is very good, the residents of Crimea themselves will want to return. Who will ask these residents of Crimea where they want to go? They will crush you with tanks if anyone wants something against Moscow,” Dzhemilev assures.
