Crimeans rose up against developments blocking views of the sea

Residents of Alupka were able to stop another construction project on the site of a viewing platform in the city.

According to his information, residents dissatisfied with the construction in the area of ​​house No. 27 on Nagornaya Street held a meeting where they demanded an explanation of the situation with the development. Representatives of the city council came to their meeting and said that the land plot on which the construction was taking place was issued for individual housing construction back in Ukraine.

“Residents of the city of Alupka continue to be concerned about the issue of land sold during the Ukrainian period. Viewpoints that residents have used for decades have been sold, city bus stops and public toilets, parks and playgrounds have been sold, centuries-old trees are being cut down, the city is becoming a complete fence.

Today’s meeting with deputies and representatives of the legal department took place on a sold viewing platform, which has been used by local residents for decades; now there is a huge fence there that blocked the view of the sea and equipment is working behind the fence. People asked to stop the construction until the correctness of the completed documents was clarified, to remove the fence, and to clear the passage to the houses as it was before,” Lebedev said.

He stressed that at the request of local residents, construction was suspended.

“Construction work in the area of ​​house No. 27 on Nagornaya Street in Alupka has been suspended. This decision was made based on the results of a visit by employees of the municipal control department. In particular, the contractor carrying out construction work on this site was given a notice recommending that work be suspended until all complaints filed by residents of the city of Alupka are considered.

Verification activities continue, in particular, a conclusion from a specialized organization for landslide prevention work is expected, and administrative proceedings are being carried out for the unauthorized demolition of green space.
The site, located in the area of ​​house No. 27 on Nagornaya Street in Alupka, has the status of “previously registered,” which indicates that rights to it arose before the reunification of Crimea with Russia.

The land plot was assigned the category “Land of settlements”, the type of permitted use is “For individual housing construction. According to the current urban planning documentation, the site is located in the territorial zone of individual residential development. Also, the owner of the site submitted an official notification about the start of construction,” the activist said.

He also notes that local authorities, in response to residents’ complaints, suggest “forgetting what happened under Ukraine.”

“It’s very sad to see when the authorities, who are supposed to work for the people, say: let’s forget what happened under Ukraine. How should we forget the sold stops and toilets, children's and viewing areas. Now a similar plan of fraud is taking place on the site of the former restroom. Firefighters, they are now trying to use accelerated technology to complete the unfinished documents and begin construction of the next house. The stop and toilet in that place will be removed,” Lebedev promised.
