Crimeans propose to rewrite Russian history textbooks
The Public Chamber of Crimea proposes to make changes to school history textbooks. The chairman of the chamber, Grigory Ioffe, announced this today at a press conference in Moscow.

“We monitored what is written about Crimea in school textbooks today. Somewhere in Vyatka or Vologda, it is quite possible that they will believe that there was some kind of annexation of Crimea. There is no historical background, no facts related to the 91 referendum. It is very important that young people starting their lives understand what happened and do not believe the myths about annexation,” said Ioffe.
According to him, social activists have repeatedly sent their proposals to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, but under the previous minister they did not receive any response. The new minister Olga Vasilyeva will send her representatives to a round table on this topic, which will be held in Crimea at the end of April.
