In war it is easy to get wounded, even in war it is very easy to receive a fatal bullet or shrapnel, after which life leaves the fighter. But there are some cases when comrades in arms have already said goodbye to a warrior, his wound is not compatible with life, and there is no pulse, however, before they have time to take him from the battlefield, after a while he returns to his positions, covered in blood, barely walking , but alive.
Only in the Slavic brigade, in which I served, I know of three similar cases when a fighter experienced death and survived. But I am sure there were many more such lucky ones.
Today I will talk about Sergei Bogomolov, call sign “Tavr”, a resident of Feodosia.
Sergei arrived in the militia in mid-August 2014 and immediately ended up in the village of Dmitrovka, Donetsk region, to a commander very respected among the militia with the call sign “Poet”.
Two weeks before his arrival, I myself commanded this garrison and was wounded there. It was a time when the militia, after a long period of defense, went on the offensive. Then Sergei had fierce battles for the Donetsk airport. The squad commanded by "Tavr" carried out some of the most difficult operations.
Between battles, he and a group of comrades came under mortar fire, and a fatal shrapnel hit him in the head. “Tavr” temporarily had no pulse, and his comrades decided that Sergei had died. But after about half an hour, Sergei woke up and reached his own people.
Sergei Bogomolov, by decision of the command, was awarded the St. George Cross, IV degree, this award is given for the manifestation of personal courage and heroism. Here are excerpts from his award list.
“At the airport in Donetsk from August 29.08.2014, 17 to September 2014, 25, he held the defense. Destroyed two units of Ural Armed Forces equipment and a ZU (anti-aircraft gun). The flag of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the XNUMXth airmobile brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was torn from the armored personnel carrier. Thanks to the skillful actions of the platoon under the command of "Tavr", the Ukrainian Armed Forces' equipment retreated. I personally destroyed dozens of enemy infantry from an ambush...”
To say that Sergei has a difficult physical and financial condition is the same as saying nothing.
I no longer need help and partly help the wounded myself, and I ask everyone to help my fellow soldier “Tavr”, a soldier with four fragments in his brain.
I know firsthand what it’s like to be wounded; as they say, I felt it “in my own skin,” or rather, on my own leg. Within a year, I had practically recovered thanks to the responsiveness of people who bore the financial burden of my temporary disability.
