Crimean Feodosia and Armenian Dilijan joined the silk brotherhood
The Armenian city of Dilijan and the Crimean Feodosia became sister cities.
An agreement on sister city relations was signed within the framework of the “Days of Crimea in Armenia,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a significant event for the Republic of Crimea and, in particular, for Feodosia, which is the birthplace of the outstanding marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky, where the largest Armenian community has always lived, and there are ancient Armenian churches,” noted Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Crimea Irina Kiviko.
Dilijan and Feodosia will be connected by the Great Silk Road tourist route, which will be developed by the Ministry of Resorts of Crimea. There are agreements on cooperation between art schools of the two cities.
“Dilijan is a city of creative intelligentsia: artists, writers, filmmakers,” added the mayor of the city, Davit Sargsyan. “I think that for our cities the signed agreement will become the basis for further mutually beneficial development.”
Participants of the Crimean delegation visited the Dilijan Museum of Local Lore, where a collection of paintings is collected, including one of Ivan Aivazovsky’s paintings “Seascape”. We also got acquainted with the work of the Russian Cultural Center in the city of Ijevan, where children study Russian literature and art.
