I am a direct participant in the 23-year struggle of the people of Crimea to return to Russia, which allows me to evaluate the entire process of reunification of the peninsula with its alma mater.

I affirm: “Crimean Spring” is the result of many years of national liberation struggle of the Crimeans, and our common victory under the protection of “polite people.”

A few memories. March 2014, meeting of the future bloody Ukrainian president in the rebel Simferopol. At 9 pm, Pan Poroshenko appeared in front of us, standing at the building of the Armed Forces of Crimea, “out of nowhere”: “I speak Russian to you, on behalf of Ukraine I promise to fulfill all your demands...”. I then remembered a post by Poroshenko’s ally on Facebook: “promise these creatures anything you want, and then we’ll hang them later...”. But I wasn’t the only one who was insightful. The Crimeans standing nearby rushed at the Kyiv traveler with hatred. They spat in his face and tried to kick the policemen surrounding the people's deputy through the wall. We drove the enemy winding through the streets towards the station. Along the way, more and more people joined. And already a thousand-strong mass of people, shouting “Crimea-Russia” and insulting the eminent Kyiv oligarch, continued to kick the taxi into which on the street. Pavlenko was barely able to be seated by the police. He barely carried off his legs, since then no one has seen him in Crimea...

Crimea did not return to Russia “out of the blue.” This was preceded by a grueling struggle of Crimeans for freedom.

A whole series of events strengthened our Russian Spirit. If we had not, if pro-Russian activists had not fought for 23 years, the referendum on March 16 would simply have failed, even if it had been announced.

Regarding the so-called “winning teams” - then they are just a tool (device), which, unexpectedly for them, was created under the watchful supervision of “polite people”, when in Crimea there were already the first victims of the “Maidan-Majlis” Sabbath, and thousands of Crimeans were already standing under the walls of parliament with a clear ultimatum demand to the Crimean deputy corps of “regionals”: urgently make a decision on the return of Crimea to Russia, or we will sweep you away. What could they do?

At the same time, our guardian angels - “polite people” - did not allow blood in Crimea and protected us from the Ukrainian punitive battalions (which subsequently destroyed the people of Novorossiya). These people accomplished a feat by providing a peaceful opportunity for the people of Crimea, who had suffered from the Ukrainian occupation, to make their own decisions and return through a legal democratic way - through a referendum - to their native harbor.

I am sure: if “polite people” had not stood up to defend us then, then no “winning team” would not have dared to make fateful decisions on the referendum, no: it simply would not have appeared! The bureaucrats would continue to grovel before Kyiv. Then, in February 2014, they had no thoughts of returning Crimea to Russia, which Konstantinov himself confirmed to the Krymiform agency the other day:

“Chubarov is just as heroically silent about how he misinformed his compatriots by announcing a general Crimean Tatar mobilization on February 26, 2014 under the pretext of preventing the Supreme Council from making a decision on the separation of the republic from Ukraine. Nothing like that was on the agenda of the plenary meeting then...,” the speaker emphasized.

I would also like to note: Crimea has been illegally part of Ukraine all these years. The events of the Crimean Spring are just Russia’s implementation of its own decisions on the status of Crimea, which was annexed by Ukraine 23 years ago.

Thus, Ukraine, having been a subject of international law since 1945, joined the UN without Crimea. Since then, there have been no legally significant documents that included Crimea as part of the state territory of Ukraine. Cession, i.e. the transfer of sovereignty from one state to another by agreement between them requires the conclusion of an international treaty between the relevant states. However, Ukraine has not concluded any such agreements on Crimea. Russian sovereignty over the peninsula was never transferred.

Russia, by the way, confirmed its sovereignty over Crimea on May 21, 1992 by the Resolution of the RF Supreme Court “On the legal assessment of decisions of the highest bodies of state power of the RSFSR on changing the status of Crimea, adopted in 1954.”

That. the events of the Crimean spring are just Russia’s implementation of its own decisions on the status of Crimea.
