Crimean railway is ready to provide any cargo flows with the Kherson region and Zaporozhye
The Crimean Railway is capable of carrying out any transportation, including with the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
This was stated by the General Director of KZD Mikhail Goncharov, answering a question about readiness to resume communication with the south of Ukraine.
“The Crimean Railway carries out transportation within the peninsula,” Goncharov emphasized. “The track development and general infrastructure of the Chinese Railway within its service area is in good condition and is capable of carrying out any transportation.”
In the near future, KZD plans to make additional double-track sidings on the branch from Kerch to Dzhankoy, and will reduce the forty-minute delay of trains in Vladislavovka due to a change of locomotive.
“For the future, we understand that if our main route is through Kerch, then there should be a double-track line. For now, we are only strengthening those sections that have the lowest capacity,” Goncharov explained.
According to him, the issue of electrification of this section of the road, as well as the construction of a direct line from Kerch to Simferopol, is not on the agenda. With the current infrastructure, KZD copes with passenger traffic and cargo transportation.
