Crimean Railway abandoned the Sevastopol city train project
The Sevastopol city train project has been postponed indefinitely.
The contractor, represented by the Crimean Railway, abandoned the previous designer, and choosing a new one, as well as concluding a contract, will take at least a year, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
At a meeting of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, Vice-Governor Pavel Ieno noted that refusal of the designer does not mean abandonment of the project.
“The issue regarding the city train is complex; our colleagues from the Crimean Railway are dealing with this,” he noted. – I am constantly in touch with the manager. Those designers who were chosen by them for the task, as far as I know, they have terminated the contract with them today.
But in any case, we need the city train, the city needs it. The dynamics of the passenger flow that we have shows that we will not be able to transport it by road. In any case, we need to develop all types of public transport - sea, road, electric. The city train, in my personal belief, will give an impetus to investors to develop infrastructure around these stopping points. They need to be synchronized with stopping areas, with public transport, this needs to be done.
Therefore, we are waiting for our colleagues. We did everything that was needed from the government of Sevastopol, we completed all the tasks, coordinated the route, all the stopping points, we submitted our proposals to our colleagues from architecture, they sewed them into the future master plan. All questions about Sevastopol have been answered, we are waiting for our colleagues.”
The design of the Sevastopol city train was carried out by the “Petersburg State University of Transport of Emperor Alexander I”. According to Forpost, by May the project was 80% ready, and the contractor asked for another month for finalization. The reason is the large number of cultural heritage sites and the coordination of part of the work with the VAD company, which is engaged in the construction of an overpass on the street. Truth. However, KZD did not attend the meeting and decided to terminate the contract unilaterally, leaving the contractor without 130 million rubles.
It should be noted that the designer of the city train already had problems with missing deadlines and cost the State University of Transport and Communications a fine of 650 thousand rubles. But the main complaint of the customer is that the contractor never showed the project. It should unite 14 stations, allowing to relieve the center of Sevastopol from transport and eliminate the need to enter the city due to intercepting parking at the terminal stations. In total, more than 4 billion rubles are planned for the implementation of the project.
