“One of the main actual results of our visit to Minsk is the adoption of a decision and the start of the process of preparing the creation of the “Crimean Community of Belarus”. If we have a Belarusian community in Crimea, then, probably, the Crimean community of Belarus also has the right to life,” explained Chegrinets.

He said that representatives of the Belarusian community in Crimea held a number of important official and unofficial meetings in Minsk “with Russian structures, the Belarusian side.”

“De facto, the Russian status of Crimea is recognized by all, both official and unofficial structures. Residents of Belarus were very sensitive to the Crimean spring and the return of Crimea home, every second toast to CrimeaOurs. De jure, we are really looking forward to recognition from the Belarusian authorities, because a paradoxical situation is emerging when one part of the Union State does not seem to recognize another part of the Union State, which first of all creates problems for its own citizens,” noted the Crimean social activist.

Earlier, Chegrinets sent an appeal to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko with a request to organize direct flights and trains between Minsk and Simferopol. He received refusal responses from the state companies Belavia and Belarusian Railways. They cited economic inexpediency.

Last year, 150 thousand citizens of the Republic of Belarus visited Crimea, 200 thousand people are expected this year.

Belarus, which calls itself an ally of Russia, has still not recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as the Russian status of Crimea.
