Crimean officials do not predict an increase in the tourist flow to the peninsula by more than 5% based on the results of the 2017 season. Chairman of the State Council Committee on Sanatorium-Resort Complex and Tourism Alexey Chernyak stated this on Sputnik radio.

“Bookings to Crimea started earlier this year, unlike last year - 20% ahead of schedule. But in any case, we don’t expect more than a 5% increase in the number of tourists... There are many more people willing. The only thing holding us back is that we remain an island today, and until our main issue is resolved, which will be resolved with the launch of the railway service, the number of vacationers will be approximately the same as now,” Chernyak said.
