“Crimean palaces became barns, and the sons of heaven became crests” - Majlis director
There are a lot of common words in the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages, but the meaning of many of them has been deliberately changed by Russia.
Mejlis director, head of the “Crimean House” Akhtem Seytablaev said this on Channel 5, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Seitablayev boasted that
“Has anyone ever wondered why Kyrymlya and Ukrainians have so much in common? Why is there so much in common in the language, starting with the word “Maidan”. I tell this story all the time - I quite often conduct this very simple experiment, I often meet with students, I say: “Please tell me, without thinking, but right away - the first emotion that arises in you when you hear the word “barn” "
Nine out of ten, if they have not been to Crimea or do not remember that they were in Bakhchisarai, say: “This is a utility building, not of a very good appearance, where either rubbish or gardening equipment is stored.” I say: “Yes, cool, but do you know that in my mother’s language, barn is translated as palace?”
Okay, let's move on, the next question is: “What emotion arises if I say crest?” And I always notice how the views become more severe, especially among guys. I say: “Why so? What happened? A negative emotion, because this statement is mostly used in a touchy manner. And I say: “From my mother’s language this translates as son of heaven.”
Who needed to change the meanings of these words? Kyrymly, Ukrainians? Most likely, no - in the Ukrainian language there is not even such a word as “barn”. There is a stable. There is also no word for “barn” in Russian. This is a Turkic word that has only one meaning. So who needed to unscrew these bolts from the conventional Eiffel Tower in order to swing it, change the meanings, the content.
And you understand that this is also persistent, constant, multi-hundred-year work of people who wanted and are striving to make sure that a person, using a word, concept, meaning, values, does not consider them as such. Then what to protect, if there are no values, if your value has no value, what are you protecting? “A barn?” Seitablayev said.
