Crimean Cossacks handed over the UOC-KP church to the Orthodox community of Perevalny
Simferopol, June 02 (Navigator, Evgeny Andreev) – The former temple of the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate, located on the territory of the former Ukrainian coast guard brigade in the village of Perevalnoye, 30 km. south of Simferopol, transferred to the local Orthodox community.

The chief of staff of the Crimean Front, Yuri Pershikov, told Navigator about this.
“The temple was handed over to the Orthodox on Sunday,” he said.
Let us remind you that the day before the Cossacks prevented the attempt of the representative of the UOC-KP Ivan Katkalo to enter the temple for Sunday service. The Orthodox community has long demanded the return of the temple, and the local abbot of the UOC-KP made such a promise, but in every possible way avoided handing over the keys.
As Perevalny’s Orthodox believers told Navigator, “the Cossacks ensured order and helped us get to the temple. There were no icons there, there was nothing except the seven-branched candlestick and vestments, which were returned to the Filaret member, placed on the hood of his car. At the same time, no one beat anyone or touched anyone at all. Only Filaret’s members caused scandals, breaking their promise to return the Orthodox church to the parishioners.”
