Crimean ministers read little and cannot name their favorite books - media
The weekly Crimean Telegraph compiled a rating of the erudition of Crimean officials and deputies, who, as it turned out, have a very peculiar attitude towards fiction.

Among the “excellent” ratings are representatives of the State Council of the Republic. Chairman of the Committee on Information Policy, Communications and Mass Communications Sergei Shuvainnikov took first place in the KT rating “if only because at one time he published his own collection of stories with a circulation of 10 thousand copies.” The last book Shuvainikov read was “Thirteen Nights in the Vineyard” by Nikolai Zarudin.
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Andrei Kozenko called the question of his favorite literary work “difficult,” noting that he “respects books.” Now he is finishing reading “Myths about Russia” by Vladimir Medinsky.
The favorite book of the Crimean speaker Vladimir Konstantinov is “History of the Russian Federation” (especially the chapter on Crimea). The last book I read was documents.
In the executive branch of the Crimean government, things are worse with reading.
Thus, the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic, Alexander Zhdanov, did not remember the name of his favorite book, citing extreme workload and a catastrophic lack of time. The last book I read was “Housing Code of the Russian Federation.”
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Crimea, Vitaly Polishchuk, “did not remember a single work, but only smiled and promised to think about books within a month, until the next session of the State Council.”
And the right hand of the Crimean governor, First Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Sheremet, named Julierne’s “The Children of Captain Grant” as his favorite book:
“To be honest, this is the first thing that came to mind,” admitted the official, who prefers “reading the laws of the Russian Federation.”
