Crimean legislators and representatives of the executive branch have closed the procedure for forming a local OP: according to the bill, out of 40 members of the chamber, 20 should be delegated from the State Council of Crimea, another 20 from the Council of Ministers.
On May 5, a public meeting of Crimea, which brought together more than 100 activists from local human rights and industry organizations, appealed to Aksenov not to sign the bill on the Public Chamber in its current form and to finalize it. If the OP is represented exclusively by officials, she will be completely dependent on them. Opponents are confident that the OP of Crimea should have at least half of the members delegated from local public organizations.
Social activists demanded that Sergei Aksenov create a working group to finalize the bill, include representatives of the Crimean public in it, and hold a round table with the participation of members of the State Council, the Council of Ministers and the media. Subsequently, the authors of the initiative believe, it is necessary to discuss the list of candidates for the republican OP at a public meeting, and the list itself should be published in the media.
