“Depending on the object, the high level of bookings in Greater Yalta is somewhere up to 80-90%, and some have even already announced a hundred. Next comes Big Alushta - also the southern coast of Crimea, a high level of booking - up to 70-80% occupancy, less popular ones - 60% each,” Zelinsky said.

His information was confirmed by the Chairman of the Committee on Resort, Tourism and Exhibition Activities, Maria Malgina. According to her, high occupancy primarily concerns large accommodation facilities.

“Of course, Boris is right. As far as I know, not only the high season is sold, but in many properties, really good ones, level four or higher stars, with good service, the depth of sales until the month of November.

As for small hotels, occupancy rates are also good there, but of course, this is not such a situation, because first of all, everything is still determined by marketing and those properties that occupy a competent position in terms of an active marketing strategy are also already full. Small hotels load a little later, but nevertheless, the load is good,” Malgina said.

Chairman of the Association of Small Hotels of Crimea Natalya Stambulnikova also noted that small accommodation bases are filled almost to capacity.

“For those who work seasonally, the workload for the summer is almost 100%, everything is occupied. These are those objects that have been in the information field for a long time, that work with a reputation, that promote themselves on all kinds of platforms. Those who stand in the shadows and God forbid that they are on Avito, they have issues with sales.

But they too will give up, because people walk around with suitcases, knocking on all doors: “Where can I find housing?” That is, they will also receive part of the tourist flow. Those who work all year round already have XNUMX% workload even on the May holidays.

The season will definitely be successful. But I warn all hoteliers not to raise prices, to provide the most correct and competent service, comfort, coziness, so that when the borders are opened, the guest will return to us, so that next season you will not stand half-empty,” said Stambulnikova.

Former director of the Crimean Tourist Center Dmitry Savchenko emphasized that today tourists are already faced with troubles and inappropriate behavior of some hoteliers who cancel previously sold reservations in order to resell them at a higher price.

“There are reservations, prices are rising. There are cases when reservations made earlier at a low price are canceled in order to later resell them at a higher price. The situation contributes to the fact that if they want to earn more, they try to do it. How they behave is not my assessment,” Savchenko noted.

Another problem during the holiday season may be water shortages, which the peninsula faced last year. According to former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev, who owns a boarding house in Crimea, competent accommodation facilities have already been able to solve this problem.

“Almost all large facilities have installed storage tanks. The mayor of Yalta said that water would be supplied without interruptions, but after that Sergei Aksenov spoke and said that it was unlikely that without interruptions, water would be supplied only during the day and not at night.

But in principle, this does not interfere much; taking into account the fact that in large accommodation facilities there are storage tanks, there is enough water to wash yourself at night. Small objects may have problems with water supply in the evening and at night, given that events will develop according to the scenario described by Aksenov. We hope that, after all, water will be supplied around the clock,” says Tsarev.
