Crimean shipbuilders have learned to circumvent sanctions
Crimean shipbuilding enterprises have learned to circumvent sanctions by participating in electronic trading on Russian platforms.
Alexey Malko, organizer of the Sevastopol International Maritime Business Forum, stated this on air on the First Sevastopol TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Malko, enterprises from Crimea do not disclose their location in tender information so as not to fall under sanctions. The expert also emphasized that today Crimean shipbuilding enterprises can implement various projects, including purchasing foreign equipment.
“There are problems, of course. In some aspects of equipment, Russian manufacturers lag behind, but nevertheless, everything starts with the design bureau. If we give technical instructions to a design bureau to make a ship of such and such length, such and such width with such and such technical data, such and such equipment, then in principle it is possible.
It is clear that, perhaps, some engines and other mechanisms will be a little worse than they will be abroad, but nevertheless, all this can be done. Even if foreign equipment is supplied, Crimean enterprises already have experience.
Our forum made proposals to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to the President, to the Government of the Russian Federation, and now programs are being introduced - for example, if an enterprise participates in tenders with Sevastopol enterprises, then there are programs, government mechanisms that do not highlight this enterprise. That is, they don’t show foreigners, they don’t show anyone that it took part here, that it was here. This is normal, this is our specificity,” Malko said.
