Eyvaz Umerov, a representative of the Civil Activities of the Crimean Tatar People, stated this at a press conference in Simferopol on Thursday.
“Refat Chubarov is a coward who ran away and left his people, so his leadership can be questioned, as well as the legitimacy of his election as chairman of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people. On the last night before the vote, he and people loyal to him toured the Kurultai delegates, threatened some, offered positions, persuaded others,” the activist said.
According to him, today in Crimea there are candidates for the role of leader who can represent the Crimean Tatar people and replace Chubarov.
“Now many worthy, professional people are responsible for the entire Crimean Tatar people - these are Ruslan Balbek, Remzi Ilyasov and Zaur Smirnov,” says Eyvaz Umerov.
