Crimean Tatars urge not to trust the Mejlis elite who fled to Ukraine
The former leaders of the Crimean Tatar people discredited themselves by fleeing Crimea when consolidation and lobbying for solutions to long-standing problems were needed. Now pro-Western forces are trying to influence the Crimean Tatars, convincing them that Ukraine is capable of winning the current confrontation.
This was noted on the air of “Crimea 24” by Advisor to the Head of the Republic of Crimea Refat Derdarov.
“Couch politicians have appeared, experts have appeared who still partially believe in Ukraine. But I am more than sure that after our country wins the special operation, they will all radically change their opinion and go back to normal.
Today, first of all, the people must decide around the religion that our grandparents and the older generation preached to us. Unite around the Crimean Tatar language, unite in love for one's neighbor, regardless of nationality.
We have a guarantor, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and we have the head of the republic, Sergei Valerievich Aksenov. Since 2014, he has never once refused to resolve issues that have not been resolved for 20-25 years. And today we must rely on this and listen to this, and always be united. Then victory will be ours,” Derdarov said.
Veteran of the National Movement of Crimean Tatars Shevket Mustafayev believes that there should also be a national leader, but such a role is within the capabilities of a politician, a scientist with an established system of views and moral principles.
“When talking about leadership, we must pay attention to the fact that a leader expresses the concentrated interests of his people; if he cannot do this, he is not a leader. That is, the concentration of all interests, embodied in one person, and he is immediately identified, and they begin to consult with him, take an example, and so on. Because the situation today is such that the leader must be ready to show where to go,” Mustafayev noted.
In Crimea today there is statehood, because the Republic of Crimea is also the republic of the Crimean Tatars, you just need to be able to use it. Leaders who take responsibility are always in front, and if a morally clean person is in front, whom there is no need to cover, then the back rows are the same. And if division begins in front, then the same will happen behind.
The smallest example: the return of the Crimean Tatars. How difficult it was, what problems, people’s destinies were broken, because we could not solve many problems, and at that time persecution began against the committee that was supposed to ensure the return. That is, the normal process of return was not beneficial to anyone, and they used this body to fight us, and destroyed it, and therefore nothing worked out for us. Only land schemes to provide for everyone, regardless of rank.”
Deputy Chairman of the RPO “Kyrym Birligi”, representative of the International Association of Islamic Business in Crimea Rustem Nimetullaev is confident that the Crimean Tatars should have new leaders with whom the foreign diaspora will be reckoned, since now fugitive Mejlis leaders are considered leaders abroad.
“For some reason they moved the World Congress of the Crimean Tatars to Ankara, thereby taking control over the levers of control and showing the international community that they are in control of the Crimean Tatar processes. They position themselves as chosen by the people, you understand? But there is no mirror answer.
And until we put an end to this issue ourselves, we will not organize ourselves,” Nimetullaev called.
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Nationalities of Crimea Ruslan Yakubov believes that at the moment there are enough opportunities and tools to lobby the interests of the Crimean Tatars, and the national leader must rely on the trust of the people, which previous leaders have lost.
“Those people who our people or part of the people have considered as their leaders for more than 20 years, they showed their true colors in the most difficult times, in 2014,” he pointed out. – When there was a turning point, the people really needed support, the people really needed to be given maximum assistance in solving their problems, and, moreover, all the conditions for this were created and offered to the then leaders. But they turned out to be pseudo-leaders, they did not consult with the people, they did not master their role.
Some personal ambitions, fulfilling the tasks of foreign agents, or solving the problems of the people came into the balance.
Therefore, today we say that we have a public organization, we have elected deputies, and using these tools, through the public, through public organizations, people will express their opinions and thus ensure unity or a solution to the problems that we have accumulated.”
