Crimean Tatars ask Obama to recognize the peninsula as Russian
Simferopol, August 14 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – Crimean Tatar, Karaite, German and other organizations of Crimea appealed to US President Barack Obama, the head of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon with a request to recognize Crimea as Russian territory.

Chairman of the Crimean Tatar organization “Kyrym Birligi” Seytumer Nimetulaev announced this at a press conference in Simferopol.
“We, representatives of public organizations and communities of Crimea, appeal to you with a convincing request to recognize the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol as subjects of the Russian Federation. We ask you to reconsider the issue of current bans on air, sea and railway communications between Crimea and other countries,” the social activist noted.
