Crimean Tatars in the Kherson region are massively boycotting conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Kherson conscripts disrupted the mobilization campaign in the region - out of 5,3 thousand, only a little less than one and a half thousand people showed up at the military registration and enlistment offices. Local social activist Gennady Sivak reported this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
According to him, only 72 people were recognized as fit.

“There is a massive evasion of Crimean Tatars from service. They declare that they refuse to serve in the army due to the fact that they have large numbers of relatives living in Crimea.
Along with this, military commissars are taking a number of measures. They post photographs of no-show conscripts right on their houses and ask their neighbors to contact the telephone numbers indicated in these advertisements if they are noticed,” Sivak noted.
