“It was decided that this year the same scheme will operate as last year,” said “To Kommersant” Head of Rosobrnadzor Sergei Kravtsov. - Children can take the Unified State Exam and try to enroll on a general basis. Or they can come to the chosen university and take exams on site in the traditional way.” This possibility has been preserved, despite the fact that the Unified State Exam has been mandatory since 2009. Universities annually independently conduct exams for certain categories of applicants, mainly those with health problems. Mr. Kravtsov emphasized that the list of exams for Crimeans will correspond to the state admission rules: “Compulsory Russian language and two or three exams in relevant subjects for this area.”
Yesterday, a letter from Deputy Minister Alexander Klimov was published on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science, where he clarified: in 2015 in Crimea and Sevastopol, the Unified State Exam will not be a prerequisite for obtaining a school certificate, the publication recalls.
In addition, the deputy minister promised that free places in universities will be allocated for school graduates at both the federal and regional levels.
Klimov also emphasized that former students of Ukrainian universities who received Russian passports will be able to continue their studies at universities in the Russian Federation. To do this, they must receive a special referral from the Crimean Ministry of Education or the Department of Education of Sevastopol.
If a student studied at a Ukrainian university on a budgetary basis, he will receive a free place in Russia. Moreover, due to the difference in programs, the period of study for such students after transfer may be extended by a year.
