A Crimean deputy demands to disperse traders and parking attendants near the Khan's Palace in Bakhchisaray
The parking lot, which prevents the free disembarkation of tourists, and the retail outlets located on the territory of the Khan's Palace must be moved. This was stated by Vice Speaker of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Andrei Kozenko during a working trip to Bakhchisarai on Friday
Kozenko also said that the development of this territory with various “shalmans” and catering facilities is inadmissible.

“The Khan's Palace is a historical and cultural monument of global significance and it is one of the main tourist sites not only of Bakhchisarai, but also of the entire Crimea. Therefore, I recommend that local authorities find out what work needs to be done to improve the territory adjacent to the palace, and focus on this when distributing funds allocated for the reconstruction of the city,” Kozenko noted.
According to the parliamentarian, in 2016, tourist attendance at the Khan’s Palace increased by 18% compared to the corresponding period last year, and this indicates an urgent need to bring it into decent shape.
This year, 300 million rubles have been allocated for Bakhchisarai. These funds are planned to be used to repair roads, lighting, retaining walls, sidewalks, curbstones, and the central historical part of Bakhchisarai.
“Our peninsula is a unique region and has enormous potential, therefore colossal funds are allocated from the center for the development of Crimean cities and regions. Crimea must completely renovate its infrastructure in order to regain its glory as a health resort and resort. The government of the country is doing everything possible for this,” Kozenko emphasized.
